1. About WordDate and 55 Digital

WordDate is developed and supplied by 55 Digital, a sole trader business. References to “we”, “us” and “our” in these terms mean 55 Digital. Contact us at support@55digital.net for product, billing or legal enquiries.

These terms apply to use of the website and app. Any paid order will also be governed by the plan details and information presented before you pay. Your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

2. What WordDate does

WordDate is a Mac app for changing supported created, modified and other date properties in Word documents, Excel workbooks and PDFs, together with supported Finder timestamps. Document processing happens on your Mac.

The current build is for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. Supported formats are .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .xlsm and .pdf, with a maximum of 256 MB per file. Encrypted and digitally signed documents are not supported. Compatibility requirements will be shown before purchase.

WordDate changes date values; it does not remove a document’s history, comments, tracked changes or all metadata, and it does not change dates written in document text or spreadsheet cells. Other applications, disks and cloud services may change file dates afterwards.

3. Your licence and permitted use

A valid purchase gives you a non-exclusive licence to use WordDate under the plan described at checkout. You retain ownership of your documents. The app, WordDate branding and website materials remain the property of 55 Digital or their respective owners; third-party components retain their own licences.

Do not sell or distribute unauthorised copies of the app, share licence credentials beyond the purchased entitlement, bypass licence protections or interfere with our systems. These restrictions do not limit rights that applicable law or third-party open-source licences give you.

Use WordDate only on files you own or are authorised to modify, and for lawful purposes. Altering a timestamp does not prove that a document is original or unedited.

4. Prices, payments and delivery

Checkout is not connected in the current website preview. Preview buttons do not place orders or charge you. When sales open, payments will be processed by Stripe. The final price, currency, any applicable taxes, licence entitlement and delivery arrangements will be shown before you confirm payment.

WordDate is supplied digitally. Download and licence instructions will be provided electronically as described when ordering; there is no physical shipment. Supply correct contact information so we can deliver your purchase and help with billing issues.

5. Plans, renewals and cancellation

Where an annual subscription is offered, it will renew each year at the price disclosed for that renewal unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can request cancellation at any time by emailing support@55digital.net. Cancellation stops future renewals and leaves your entitlement in place until the end of the period already paid for, unless a refund ends it sooner.

A lifetime option, if offered, involves a single payment and no recurring subscription. Its precise entitlement, including device limits and update coverage, will be stated before purchase. Provisional prices shown during the preview are not a confirmed order.

We will explain material changes to an existing subscription before they take effect and provide any notice or cancellation rights required by law.

6. Refunds and consumer cancellation rights

If WordDate is not suitable for you, email support@55digital.net within 14 days of purchase to request a full refund. Include your order reference or the email used for the purchase; do not send payment card details. This refund promise also applies if you have downloaded or tried the app. After that period, refunds remain available wherever required by law, including for faulty or misdescribed digital content.

UK consumers generally have a 14-day cancellation period for online digital-content purchases. If we offer immediate delivery during that period, checkout must obtain your express consent to supply and your acknowledgement that the statutory change-of-mind cancellation right is lost once supply starts. These terms alone do not give that consent. Our voluntary 14-day refund promise above still applies.

To cancel, email a clear statement that you wish to cancel your WordDate purchase, together with your name, order date and order reference or purchase email. You do not have to use a particular form. Refunds are returned to the original payment method unless otherwise agreed, without undue delay and within any applicable legal deadline.

7. Updates and support

We provide support at support@55digital.net. Please include your macOS version, WordDate version and a description of the issue. Avoid sending confidential documents; a sample file is usually sufficient.

Updates may address compatibility, security or product improvements. Install updates needed to keep the app working securely and as described. Automatic update availability depends on your build and licence entitlement; the current preview build is not connected to the update feed. We do not promise compatibility with every future operating system or file format, and this does not remove any obligation imposed by consumer law.

8. Care of your documents

Keep a backup and check the before-and-after preview before applying changes. Use Save a copy if you want to retain your original, and close documents in other editors before updating them. You are responsible for selecting the files and date values you intend to use.

WordDate checks supported date properties before saving, but this is not a guarantee that every application will display them identically or that dates will remain unchanged after a later save or transfer.

9. Our responsibilities and liability

We are responsible for supplying WordDate as described and for meeting the legal standards that apply to the purchase. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

If you are a consumer, you retain your rights concerning satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose, description, remedies for faulty digital content and any legally recoverable loss. We do not exclude those rights or impose a blanket cap on them.

If you use WordDate for business purposes, to the extent permitted by law we are not responsible for indirect or consequential business losses, such as lost profits or business opportunities. This does not affect liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Personal information

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle website, support and purchase information, and how local document processing works. Stripe’s own terms and privacy information apply to its payment services.

11. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms for future use or purchases, showing the updated date on this page. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights from an existing purchase. If a change affects an existing contract, we will provide any notice and obtain any agreement required by law. You can print or save this page for your records.

12. Law, disputes and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, this does not take away mandatory protections provided by the law where you live or prevent you bringing a claim in a court available to you under that law.

Contact 55 Digital at support@55digital.net if you have a question, complaint or refund request. We will try to resolve the issue with you before further action is needed.
